All our Equipping Hour ministries are designed to help you grow in your walk with Christ as you deepen both your knowledge and love for God. These ministries are offered on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:00 am.
Sunday Mornings at 9:00 am
If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
Conflicts are inevitable because we live in a world of sinners—in our marriages, churches, extended families, the workplace, etc. To be clear, not all conflict is for sinful reasons, but we quickly escalate the differences of opinion to sinful conflict due to our selfishness and pride.
Over the next few weeks, we are going to focus on resolving these conflicts, being peacemakers, growing as Christians who recognize the “logs” in our own eyes and the out-of-control desires in our own hearts, that lead to conflicts that dishonor God and hurt others.
This is by no means everything we need to know about conflict resolution and peacemaking, but these principles will certainly lay a good foundation to better reflecting the glory of God in Christ Jesus, our Peacemaker.
Week 1— 8/18 - "Blessed are the Peacemakers" (Matt 5:9; Rom 12:18)
Week 2— 8/25 - "Our Wanting Hearts are the Problem—there is a Solution" (Jam 4:1-10)
Week 3— 9/1 - "The Commitments of a Peacemaker" (Jam 3:17-18)
There are no books to purchase--just notes to take and principles to apply in our daily lives! Please contact Pastor Chris Bruynzeel at firstname.lastname@example.org as to whether or not you will attend. It help us know the number of notes to print.
The Fundamentals of the Faith (FOF) class covers thirteen lessons blending basic biblical truths with personal obedience and service. Topics range from the character of God to church participation, so it's an ideal study for new believers or a helpful review and fresh encouragement for even the most seasoned saints. FOF begins April 14 in the Library and is led by Patrick LaCanfora.
Parents and children are welcomed and encouraged to praise God together through fun worship songs. We will also have a short Bible lesson followed by Family Table Time. The Family Table Time is designed to facilitate family discussions that reinforce important biblical truths from the lesson using thought provoking and creative learning activities. We also encourage each family to use the Generations of Grace Companion Family Devotional Booklet during the week ($10). The Devotional Booklet has daily passages and discussion questions to help the father/parents disciple their children at home daily by both reviewing and going in-depth on the lesson and bible passages taught the prior Sunday.
