Bible studies are the core of our Women's Ministry at Bethany. Studying God's Word lays the foundation for spiritual growth as we learn to walk daily with the Lord. We offer Bible studies throughout the year, with classes held at different times and days of the week. Each study includes plans for personal study throughout the week that will help you to dig deeply into God's Word. For more information email

Celebrated for their courage, vision, hospitality, and spiritual giftedness, it's no wonder women were so important to God's plan revealed in the Old and New Testaments. It wasn't their natural qualities that made these women extraordinary but the power of the one true God whom they worshipped and served. Their struggles and temptations are the same trials faced by all believers in all ages.

In Twelve Extraordinary Women by John MacArthur, you'll learn more than fascinating information about these women, you'll discover--perhaps for the first time--the unmistakable chronology of God's redemptive work in history through their lives. These women were not ancillary to His plan, they were at the very heart of it. And this book includes their amazing stories.

The twelve women we'll study are Eve (Genesis 3:20), Sarah (Genesis 11-25), Rahab (Matthew 1:5-6), Ruth (Ruth 1-4), Hannah (1 Samuel 1-2), Mary, the mother of Jesus (Luke 1-2), Anna (Luke 2:36-38), The Samaritan woman (John 4), Martha and Mary (Luke 10:38-42), Mary Magdalene (Matthew 27:56-61), and Lydia (Acts 16:14).

  • Titus 2 discipleship groups

“Teach what accords with sound doctrine. Older women . . . are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled . . . so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.”

    Titus 2:3-5, 10

With these words from the book of Titus as our guide, we encourage women to study, learn and mentor others about understanding, living, and passing on the legacy of biblical womanhood to the next generation. Join one of our studies and look to God’s Word for His perspective on the character, commitments, and attitudes of godly women—and His prescribed process for helping us live out these virtues not only today, but from generation to generation.

Below is the current list of discipleship group book studies under the ministry umbrella of Titus 2.

Precious Truths in Practice: Holding Fast to God When You Are Overwhelmed, by Martha Peace

When our lives are in crisis and we are overwhelmed and filled with anxiety, Christians can lean on the steadfast promises of God to get them through each day. Our faith is strengthened by the knowledge of the character of God. God wants to be known by His children, and evidence of that is found throughout Scripture. This book will increase your faith and help you to find peace as you trust in God's path for your life.

Becoming a Titus 2 Woman, by Martha Peace

The purpose of this group is to come together in order to grow and learn how to be qualified mentors of women at Bethany Bible Church. Believing that Jesus left us with the command to go and make disciples, we want to fulfill that mandate by enabling all generations of women to radiantly reflect the glory of Christ and flourish in every area of life.
